Louise
My name is Louise, and I'm a 26-year-old living in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I recently finished a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Victoria, and I have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University here in Ottawa. The two different degrees may seem like an odd combination, but it seems to work out for my field of interest, renewable energy.
It doesn't stop there though. Actually, the more time I spent in university, the more my "artsy" side began to show. I've been into drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. I inadvertently gave it all up in university until I realized one day that it had been ages since I'd just drawn or painted anything for fun. Sooo, I'm going to get back into that.
I also play cello, but again, that was something I did a lot more of in high school than in university. Now that I'm done university, I've started playing for an orchestra again, which feels really good.
Then there's the reading - I used to read all the time, but during my university years it more or less got narrowed down to textbooks and even then, only when absolutely necessary. Towards the end of my grad degree, I began to feel an overwhelming urge to read all sorts of books that aren't related (or at least, not closely related) to my degree, so now I have an enormous pile of books that have yet to be read, with topics ranging from aboriginal issues to dance conditioning.
Speaking of dance, I do irish dancing as well. I'll never be a Riverdance star, but at least it's fun and good exercise (no matter what An Comisiun thinks of adult dancers! :-))
